Abstract. Investigation of criminal offenses in the field of investment activity is one of the priority areas in the activities of law enforcement agencies, and if they are committed by organized criminal groups, illegal activities become even more socially dangerous and large-scale, transnational forms, – exacerbates the problem. The subject of the offense is investments – namely, all types of property and intellectual values, which are invested in objects of entrepreneurial and other types of activity, as a result of which profit (income) is created and/or a social and environmental effect is achieved. The circumstances of the commission are due to the implementation of investment activity as a set of practical actions of citizens, legal entities and the state regarding the implementation of investments. The method of commission is aimed at direct appropriation of the investor’s funds. The trace picture of the event is represented by material, ideal and electronic (digital) traces. The offender has professional knowledge in the field of investment and economic activity, in some cases is an official of state bodies, business entities, has experience in practical activities. As for organized criminal groups, they are characterized by a high level of organization, the distribution of roles of accomplices, the use of measures to prepare and conceal a criminal offense. Victims can be both individuals (investors) and legal entities (state, collective or private form of ownership) that have suffered losses as a result of illegal actions in the field of investment activity. The feasibility of developing scientific and educational and methodological support for the issue is substantiated, which will be the basis for improving both regulatory and legal regulation and the key to effective detection, cessation, disclosure, investigation and prevention of criminal offenses in the field of investment activity.
