Abstract
Modern library technologies are described and systematized in relation to organization of maintenance of readers and automation of library processes. Technologies of reader’s maintenance which are used today in higher educational establishments of Ukraine are mostly formed as early as before last century and did not almost change since. At the same time, home libraries have certain experience of application of progressive technologies: free access of readers to the library funds, inter-library subscription, system of library branches, e-catalogs, etc. Today providing of free access of readers to the book funds must become a main measure in relation to modernization of library technologies in higher educational establishments of Ukraine. The input of free access of readers needs the radical change of library technologies on the whole. Necessary actions are transferences of readers on self-service, automation of delivery of books, liquidation of reading hall as separate subdivisions of library, introduction of positions of librarians-consultants, input of new services for readers and others like that. Gradual transference of library funds (first of all, educational facilities and educational-methodical materials) must serve unloading of work of libraries in an electronic form, and also creation of electronic banks of educational and scientific labors (repository). Taking into account the operating processes of inclusion of Ukraine to European educational and scientific space integration is seen actual in outer informative space, in particular, adjusting of it communications with international scientometric databases.Downloads
