Use of Experience of Canadian Police Training in the Activities of the National Police of Ukraine

Abstract

The results of the trip by the delegation of the Ukrainian Academy of Patrol Police to Canada were summarized and analyzed in order to study current issues in the field of training Canadaʼs police activities and participate in the training course «Personal Security for Police Instructors» conducted by the Canadian Police Mission in Ukraine. The experience of Canada in the context of reforming and improving the system of vocational training is described. The necessity of using Canadian experience in the activities of the National Police of Ukraine is substantiated.

In many developed countries today, a large, varied and varied experience of training specialists for police services has been accumulated. The organization of the police activities to ensure public order and safety, the fight against crime in all its manifestations in each country has its own specifics and features. In accordance with the structure, tasks, legal regulation of the law-enforcement body in different countries, national training systems are being built. Many countries have successfully passed or are undergoing reforms, including the law-enforcement system, and their experience can be useful in Ukraine. At the current stage of functioning of the National Police of Ukraine, the issue of qualitative improvement of the system of training of police officers was raised. Undoubtedly, in this context, the study of the best foreign experience of police training should play an important role. Analyzing all of the above, in our work, we will focus on some issues that we believe will enhance the effectiveness of professional training of police officers to perform official duties. In this issue, the study of the experience of the leading countries of the world, in particular Canada, is relevant.

The above factors determine the relevance of scientific understanding of the training of police officers at the Academy of the Royal Canadian Equestrian Police (hereinafter – the Academy of Communist Party), its theoretical and practical significance.

The purpose of the article is to find out the features of professional training at the Academy of the Royal Canadian Equestrian Police, the organization of the educational process, the use and adaptation of the Canadian Police experience during the training of the staff of the Patrol Police Academy under the program «Personal Security Course for Police Instructors». All of the aspects outlined are important for improving the relevant work in the National Police System of Ukraine, as the Canadian Policeʼs experience in training police departments by professional staff is considered advanced in modern conditions.
