Abstract

The main criterion of the work of the National police should be confidence of peoplein them. It depends on many factors, particularly the openness of their employees, cooperation with public and non-governmental organizations, as well as the sincerity of intentions to help people who suffer from unlawful acts. However, in our opinion, the best way isto help such people toavoid committing a crime that would stop onset of socially dangerous consequences. To this end, law enforcement bodiesare engaged in crimeprevention. There is a problem of counteraction to crimes against morality, including pandering todepravityin Ukraine now,as confirmed by statistics. Timely preventive measures are carried out not only for moralsprotection from unlawful influence, andtohelp maintain both physical and mental health of people, who can be engaged in indecent assault. The subjects of prevention ofpandering todepravityare the units of the criminal police. When planning and conducting the police preventive measures against this crimeit is necessary to ensure the safety of people engaged in indecent assault, especially children and persons who assist in the investigation. The worked out recommendations will help to law enforcement personnel in carrying out preventive work regarding pandering todepravity. This activity begins with the identification of causes and conditions of pandering to depravity. General preventive measures should be carried out by the criminal police in cooperation with other state bodies and non-governmental organizations, and individual prevention is to achieve operational-preventive effect on specific individuals for the purpose of rejection of the intent of the crime. When these chancesare exhausted, we make a decision on carrying out measures to prevent the commission of certain episodes conceived as pandering to depravity that involve the active use of covert capabilities of units of the criminal police.
