Areas and Locations of Operative Units’ Search Activity

Abstract

Article presents analysis of topical issues related to identification of areas and locations of operative units search activity with aim to detect persons and facts of operative interest. Areas of search activity defined in the course of common crimes investigation cover: citizens who live and work in the serviced zone (search in the neighborhoods); locations where persons of operative interest usually concentrate (search on object) and get rid of stolen property; criminal groups (members of organized crime groups, gangs, addicts, illegal migrants); accused persons held liable for criminal offences equivalent to unsolved. Areas of search activity in the course of latent crimes (business and economic crimes) investigation cover: objects of one economic branch including different levels (vertical search); objects of one economic branch (same level) (horizontal search); mass media, Internet; organizations of different ownership forms related to the abovementioned objects  of one economic branch (same level) and financial-credit system institutions providing services to these objects; points of sale; locations of illegal manufacturing; legal manufacturing locations (products or components) with high risk of counterfeiting operations;  ways of product distribution (domestic and international);  state bodies and agencies controlling the business entities’ activities in certain area of economy.
