Application of Logic in Law Enforcement Activities
Abstract
Abstract. The aim of the article is to approach the understanding of the essence of thinking by revealing the nature of the interaction between thinking and logic.The article examines the issue of applying logic in the work of law enforcement officers. Professional thinking is formed on the bases of practical and theoretical mental acts, and is qualified by specific individual psychological properties, which serve to the effective solving of professional tasks. It is argued that formal logic occupies a prominent place in the activities of police officers, as it significantly affects the quality of solving vital problems that arise in society. And also attests to the level of legal culture, clarity, reasonableness and objectivity of the police officer’s thinking. The application of formal logic in the activities of a police officer affects the development of his professional intuition and professional thinking as a unity of practical and theoretical mind, which allows more rational, systematic and expedient solving of the tasks and problems facing him. There is considerable attention to legal thinking. Legal thinking is a special form of thinking. Professional thinking is formed on the bases of practical and theoretical mental acts, and is qualified by specific individual psychological properties, which serve to the effective solving of professional tasks. The research process used methods of analysis, synthesis, abstraction, and generalization. Practical significance. With the help of thinking, an individual discovers the relationship between objects, events and phenomena, finds out the causes and consequences of this interaction, and can also draw conclusions that will later provide a broader understanding of the essential features of individual legal phenomena. The presented results may be useful to university lecturers, school teachers, and students of higher education institutions.
