Identification of the Facts of Human Trafficking by the National Police Units Connected with Human Trafficking
Abstract
In this article the authors examined peculiarities of identification of the facts of human trafficking by National Police units which are combating against crimes in this sphere and developing the ways of their perfection.
In particular it is noted that the National Police combating crimes units are related to human trafficking in the course of search of business oriented operational and meaningful information about the facts of human trafficking from open and covert resources: appeals of citizens; messages that comes on the phone «hotline» or «helpline»; information from persons who confidentially cooperate with operational units in accordance with the law of Ukraine «About Operative-Search Activity»; information obtained from structural units of the MIA of Ukraine; information received from the entities that carry out activities in combating against human trafficking, public authorities; information obtained from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine; information received from the State Border Service of Ukraine; information received from the State Migration Service of Ukraine; monitoring advertisements in printed media, Internet ads, ads placed in areas with large concentrations of people (railway stations, public transport stops, airports); information obtained from embassies, consulates and law enforcement agencies of foreign countries; information received from non-governmental (NGO) organizations, including international; information obtained in the course of criminal offenses related documentation; information obtained as a result of working with persons previously convicted in committing criminal offenses in areas of operational division.
