Extremism preventive measures in youth environment

Abstract

The problem of study is defined by necessity of overall scientific research of essence, specificity and practice outlines of youth extremism preventive measures organization in Ukraine. Youth is one of the social groups’ most vulnerable to extremism. Youth extremism expanding shows the insufficient social adaptation as well as development of young people’ asocial orientation of consciousness that arouse the illegal behavior. In modern conditions of Ukrainian society reforming the displays of extremism became a destabilizing factor under influence of the batch of powerful criminogenic effects. Public has become an eyewitness of alien ideals expanding into society by a few subjects including criminals (violence, cruelty, self-will, hate propaganda) undermining the moral values and foundations formed till ages in Ukrainian state. Youth is getting under this influence particularly. It is due to their attempts to self-esteem during the process of cooperation with persons like they are, and it forces them to unite into groups, organizations etc. Desire to strength their authority in the informal environment, strive to economic independence, as well as agerelated mindlessness are pushing a part of youth to committing crimes related with extremism. These acts are urgent threats to entirety and state sovereignty, moral principles of society and personality. The task-oriented criminological prevention is one of the effective ways of youth extremism counteraction in Ukraine.
